Fitness 101: Essential Equipment for an Effective Workout Routine!

Happy February, are we all still on that fitness kick, where we all want that good body for summer. I know I am just starting to get back on track when it comes to fitness. But when I was starting my fitness journey, someone once told me that we need special equipment to get started if we didn’t want to leave home. As I was doing research, we didn’t need special equipment, that was a lie that should never have been told. When working out, I think it depends on what exercise you are doing. Let's look at which equipment is most effective for each workout.

1. Resistance Bands are strength training and physical therapy also known as a replacement for dumbbells, if you are trying to be on a budget. I used them, because they were easier to find and a cheaper version for me, when I was low on money.

2. Kettle Balls are cardiovascular, strengths and flexibility training, they are also another version of dumbbells. I have never used these, because I don’t see the point.

3. Dumbbells are strength training, fixed or adjustable types. I have used these, but I only go up to 10 lbs. I never go outside of that, I am not training to be a bodybuilder, I only want to get rib of the fat around my arms.

4. Pushup Bars/stands are the easy equipment where you are using equipment instead of using your own arms. I never used these, I always find myself using the old way, my own body and my own arms, called me old fashioned.

5. Jumping Rope is also another workout equipped with high-intensity, full-body workout that help improve cardiovascular health, and muscular endurance. I will always use this as my workout equipment because sometimes I think it is the only thing you need to work out.

6. Treadmill is another effective piece of equipment that should be in everyone home, if you would like to walk, jog or run and you can’t because of the weather. I don’t use a treadmill, because I don’t care for them, I am more of an outdoor type, cold, sunny, hot, rainy, wintry, you will find me outside.
