Ask Alexis: How Do I Start A Fashion Blog?

When I first began as a blogger, it was around 2007, I didn't take it seriously then like I do now, because it was like a hobby, it was my journal. None of the blogs I started back then is around anymore, because I deleted them all, I kept going back and forth to them, but then all of a sudden, I stop writing on them, and decided to delete them all. Then back in 2014, I told myself, that I would like to do my blog again, which led to the first blog post of the year on my birthday, but then I stop until 2015 because it didn't feel right. but I kept on writing. Then I decided to take it full force in March 2015. I did it from time to time, then I came in full force in 2016, 2017, and 2018. I try to do my blog every day, which is hard to do. But I will keep up on it and keep going.

I was wondering how would someone like me start a blog and become one. I have always wanted to do one, but I am a little afraid to go for it. I don't know where to start. I was wondering if you would give me tips on how to go about it.

Tip 1) Before starting a blog, I suggest keeping a notebook, so you can write down your ideas for example you can write down names of what you like and also what you want to focus on in your blog, figure out if it going to be fashion, beauty, and lifestyle or it could be more about traveling. Also, you can also try something like fitness.

Tip 2) Go to your search engine and type in how to start a blog or want to start a blog because you get all these sites to come up, like for example Weebly, WordPress, Wix, Blogspot, and many others. You should do your research when it comes to these sites because you don't want to end up with a site that is not going to take you anywhere when it comes to blogging.

Tip 3) After you did your research on blog hosting, you need to pick a name, before you do that you want to choose a name that is noticeable and also nobody has. When you find a name that you like you can always google searched it and see if anybody has it. You can also choose your name if you like, I decided to not choose my name because it was too formal.

Tip 4) Take out your notebook and do your pro and cons list of each blog hosting you want or thinking about using. You don't want to end up with the wrong site where you will be disappointed because it is something that you didn't want or like. So be careful what site you pick.

Tip 5) Do not pay any money until you actually want to do your blog and take it full-time. You should take this seriously because all sites come with a free domain name like for example, www.alexis-marie.weebly.com. So don't pay anything until you are serious.
